I just wanted to share a couple of pictures I have taken recently, both happen to include my daughter and her back, go figure.

The first on is of my daughter Riley and her two best friends walking down a paved path at our local park.  I loved this one so much it made its way over the fireplace in the family room in a very large frame.

The picture below was at my daughters soccer game the other day, one of the girls really wanted to take a picture of their numbers, I just thought it was cute how they all embraced and started to pull each other closer and closer.  Girls sports especially at the house league level is just amazing.  They laugh, cheer and sing songs to encourage each other from the sideline.

Theo and Kate

When Peter and Mary came over for some photos of their new baby Kate and their 15 month old boy Theo, I new this was going to be fun and a little challenging.  Theo was a lot of fun and we just had to follow him around the set and capture his expressions, Theo wasn't staying put for any longer than he had to .

Kate on the other hand just as beautiful was only days old and she wasn't going anywhere, we were lucky to get her to open her eyes.  Kate is still at that keep me warm, move me around and I want to sleep stage.

It was a lot of fun and just a happy beautiful family.  I hope you like a few of my pictures from the day.

Chris and Lindsay's New Baby Ava

I was so excited to see Chris and Lindsay.  We first met back 2011 with their engagement photos for their 2012 wedding,  and this time I get to share another wonderful photo shoot when they brought over their first baby, Ava.  She was as my mother in law would say "a treasure". Chris and Lindsay have jumped into their new role perfectly, both seemed very comfortable with Ava who was only days old.  I know men months later who are still afraid to hold the child, afraid they might break them.  Good on ya Chris.  Lindsay looked as beautiful as every, the kind when woman get jealous that she just had a baby and looks that great.

Ava is a beautiful baby, and I'm very happy for Chris and Lindsay.  I have posted a few of my favorites from the day, I hope you like them. 

Baby Paige

Let me be the first to introduce 7 week old Paige.

She is the pride and joy of Karen and Brad of Courtice ON.  Paige was an absolute delight to work with, she didn't really want to go to sleep, and so she was pretty much wide awake through the entire photo shoot.  So we played along with Paige, like they say in Hollywood, never work with kids and animals because you never know what you will get.  And I will agree with the 2nd part, you never know what you will get and that's what makes it so exciting for me and so much fun.

The Wedding of Derek and Jessica

The Wedding of Jessica and Derek was a special day (especially as I write this and there is snow swirling out my window and it's -3 degrees).  The weather was fantastic for a March wedding with the temperatures close to 10 degrees and beautiful sunlight throughout the day.  That being said the weather could have been dark and cold with a snow storm and it would not put a dent in what was a fabulous day.  I arrived at the house and the spirits were already on high, Jessica had just entered the hall from getting dressed and looked simply beautiful.  As you can see in the photos Jessica set the mood for the day with a smile and energy that was infectious!  Everyone from Jessica's parents to bridal party were positive and fun loving.  I could go on about how much fun I had shooting the wedding - simply being a part of the wedding was an absolute joy.

The ceremony was held at picturesque Trafalgar Castle in Whitby.  Despite a very small mix up by the reverend with the groom's name at one point, which received a lot of laughter, the ceremony was beautiful and went off without a hitch.  We were able to capture some great shots in the school as well and then ventured to Deer Creek for the cocktail reception and dinner.  What a fantastic day!

Axxess Hair Design

My friend Tanya, asked if I would be interested in another photo shoot, since her and her friend Stephanie, owner of Axxess Hair Design in Whitby, Ontario were entering another contest.  This time it was a L'Oreal Colour Contest!  I was asked if I would like to be the photographer for the session.  This was my 3rd with Tanya and I have enjoyed each one and was looking forward to this adventure.  Tanya had one model Alison, whom I had met at a previous shoot and seem to bump into at the oddest places especially Canadian Tire - go figure.  The other models, Janice and Renee, were just as beautiful and wonderful to work with as was Stephanie. 
It was a great day and it didn't take long for everyone to get comfortable, please remember these woman as beautiful as they are, and there is no doubt they are beautiful, are amateurs and friends of the stylists and not professional models.

Lacey

One aspect of my job, and I use the term very loosely, since what I do is an absolute pleasure and never feels like a job,  is when I get that email or phone call from a previous bride who tells me they had a baby and would like to schedule a shoot.  So I was delighted when Rachelle arranged a session to introduce me to Lacey. She was an absolute bundle of joy, and just loved looking at herself in the mirror, it was priceless!  Here are a few of my favorites from the day.
