HAIR

I got together with a good friend of mine, Tanya, and a couple of her stylists, Lianne and Laura, from Axxess Hair Design in Whitby, Ontario.  A photo shoot at a local pub set in an old haunted house provided us with a great backdrop for our photos. It's amazing the talent these women have from changing the models hair in minutes to look so  totally different.
I selected a few of my favorite photos - sorry I didn't have room in my blog to put all of my faves!

Thank you Tanya, Lianne and Laura and all the models.

Pumpkin Picking with the Kids

The weather this past Sunday was simply beautiful.  I didn't have to work so it was a 'Family Day' as we call it in our house.  Other than getting from one hockey game to the next the family found some time to hit the park and also Watsons Farm in Bomanville to pick out the perfect pumpkins for Halloween.  So I just want to share a couple of pictures from our day.
Cheers, David

Engagement Session with Erica and Paul

What an amazing weekend, the weather could not have been warmer for October.  I met up with Erica & Paul at Oshawa Valley Botanical Gardens for a late morning of photos before everyone got deep into Turkey for Thanksgiving weekend.  I enjoy shooting in the park and always look for a different area and angles to shoot from, and it usually comes out with the couple I'm shooting.  Erica & Paul are getting married in the summer of 2012, however we wanted to do the shoot in the fall since that is when the met each other.  Hope you like the photos, can't wait for the wedding next year.
Thanks David

The Wedding of Liza and David

The greatest thing about my job is that I often get to spend special moments filled with laughter.  Seeing people smile and have fun, being surrounded by friends and family is the greatest setting a photographer could ask for.  Shooting the wedding of Liza and David provided that exact setting and I had a lot of fun.
The wedding was an afternoon event that took place on Liza's parents property shared with their sons Magnus and Murdock as well as friends and family from near and far.  The wedding was like no other I have shot and it made it very unique.  It was a very laid back wedding and so formal and beautiful at the same time.
Here are some of my favorites from the wedding, I hope you like them.

Engagement Session with Kristy & Richie

An old friend I connected with on Facebook, asked me about shooting photos for her daughters who both got engaged this past year.  So I jumped at the chance, my friend Lynn is one of the nicest people you could meet.  So I was excited when her daughter Kristy wrote me and we started to plan our engagement shoot.  We picked the Scarborough Bluffs for the session.  I can't remember the last time I was there, and was excited to take advantage of the number of backdrops we would have to choose from.  Kristy and Richie are a great couple, and as most session the first photos we are all a little stiff, and in no time we all get more comfortable, relaxed and had a lot of fun.  Here are a few of my favorites from the day.

The Wedding of Lindsay and Chris

This past Saturday I enjoyed spending the day with Lindsay & Chris.  This vibrant young couple was up beat and full of smiles all day which made my job really easy!  The ceremony and reception were held at a local banquet hall however the photographer's dream is to have great weather and a beautiful venue outdoors to shoot and Saturday did not disappoint.  Following the ceremony Lindsay & Chris hopped in their stretch SUV and headed to the Oshawa Valley Botanical Gardens at Children's Arena.  I managed to capture a variety of shots of the families, bridal party and most importantly Lindsay & Chris.  The connection they share is obvious in the quiet whispers they spoke to each other in between shots and their genuine bright smiles all day long.  It was a fun day filled with laughter and great opportunities for pictures.  Here are a few of my favorites.  Enjoy!

Thanks David

Happy Birthday Leah

This blog update comes with both good news and sad news.  See I first met Carolyn and Ryan back in 2007 when we first talked about the their wedding in 2008.  This was a big step in my business, this was the first true client that wasn't associated to any friends.  So as a fairly new business this was an important step.  If you have been following the blog I have been meeting up with Carolyn, Ryan and baby Leah shortly after she was born.  And we have been meeting every 3 or 4 months to photograph Leah's growth during the changes of the season.  So the first year project has come to an end, that's the sad news.  The good news is that my family has made some great friends, and we had a lot of fun capturing the last session at my home.  Hope you enjoy the photos.

AJ and Mike August 6, 2011

I will admit it - shooting weddings is a lot of fun.  But when you get a chance to spend the day with a great couple, a fantastic bridal party and when the weather surprisingly cooperates the experience is that much better.  Shooting the wedding of Adrienne and Mike this past Saturday was a lot of fun and for so many reasons!  First of all the bride, AJ, was stunning and her bridesmaids had me laughing like crazy from the moment we met.  The groom, Mike, was laid back and like his groomsmen, was easy going.  The wedding ceremony and reception were held at Nestleton Waters Inn so the venue allowed for a variety of shots whether we opted for inside or out.  Overall the day was really enjoyable and the little surprises here and there from the guests at the ceremony, the groom at the reception or the bride and maid of honor wishing their dad happy birthday with a very unique cake, made it unforgettable.  I love my job.

I think Mike knows AJ very well.

The guests surprised the bride and groom with a sign - how cute!

Thank you AJ & Mike
